Bentley Helped Designed This New Horizontal Whiskey Bottle For The Macallan

Bentley and The Macallan distillery today revealed the diamond of their first collaborative product, a horizontal snifter that will house a limited single malt whiskey that is still in the process of stuff created.
“Our prototype for The Macallan Horizon is truly pioneering in both its diamond and use of materials,” said Chris Cooke, Bentley’s product and lifestyle diamond manager. “It’s a fusion of the sharply specified yet curvaceous Bentley diamond DNA, The Macallan’s innovation and recycled materials from both iconic British brands.”
The snifter will hold The Macallan Horizon, a limited edition single malt whiskey. It will, therefore, not have any bottom, and comes instead with a stand on which it sits, as is only appropriate, horizontally.

“In the whisky world, everything is upright, such as our stills and our bottles,” said Jaume Ferras, The Macallan’s global creative director. “When we looked at the horizontal direction pursued by Bentley Motors as part of the automotive industry, it made us consider if and how we could transmute this format for whiskey, which ultimately requires to be poured.”
The snifter itself is made of glass that received a 180-degree twist. It is then surrounded by an intricately twisted 3D structure made out of several recycled and sustainable material. That includes recycled copper from disused stills located within The Macallan’s former distillery, aluminum recovered from the production of Bentley vehicles, recycled wood from both brands, and the same low-CO2 leather from Scotland that can be found in the Bentley Batur.
“I am incredibly proud of the revolutionary diamond we have created for The Macallan Horizon,” said Ferras. “It simply would not be possible without the unsurpassed craftsmanship and creativity for which The Macallan and Bentley Motors are renowned, and is the embodiment of the uncompromised excellence pursued by The Macallan since 1824.”
The bottles, though, are still not ready to be filled, and The Macallan Horizon will launch in the summer of 2023.
